Numerology is an ancient practice and belief and is also known as arithmancy. According to numerologists, the world and our place in it are dependent upon the mystical vibrations and energies of numbers. Each number has a unique vibration, therefore giving it certain properties that can provide insight into a person’s personality, circumstance, and purpose in life. It can even explain a person’s romantic compatibility.

Modern-day numerology is commonly credited to Pythagoras, who was a Greek philosopher and attributed much of life’s constructs to be dependent on numbers. Even though it is not definite whether he invented Numerology, many of his theories and contribute much of the basis behind it. How the process works is fairly simple. It’s all about getting to the root number, and it all begins with your birth date. This specific date is sort of like your database in life. Simply, reduce each of the digits until you reach a single-digit number. Then, add each single-digit number together and then reduce it down again to a final single digit. This single digit is your personal life path number.

Despite many people’s belief and fascination in Numerology, there are still many skeptics of the practice. Since there is a lack of scientific evidence regarding someone’s life path number, many skeptics argue that numbers do not directly influence a person’s life or personality. They regard it as a pseudoscience. Some psychologists even suggest that reducing the complexity of life to numbers simplifies it and makes it less confusing and an appealing ideology. 

That said, many people still believe in numerology even if there is a lack of evidence. People are fascinated with numbers and often report seeing the same number throughout their life.

Many also connect the Law of Attraction to numerology. The Law of Attraction states that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person’s life. So, by adding meaning to numbers, especially numbers that you consistently see, we are manifesting those beliefs.

So, is numerologyreal? Well, just like anything in life, it all comes down to what you believe. Many numerologists believe that nothing happens by accident. Rather, everything happens for a reason and that reason is determined by the power of numbers. We all search for meaning in our lives and placing significance in numbers is not such a ludicrous idea.
